The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to install and works well. However should you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping purposes, you will need to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and effectively. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also rapid.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. These include corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It's important to note that it incurs regular costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan map which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair that our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were pleasant jingles to signal that it was starting and getting its work done.

Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth looking into.  automatic vacuum cleaner robotvacuummops  is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
